The Axiom Healing Method was developed through nearly 30 years of lived experience in elite athletics, chronic pain, catastrophic injury rehabilitation, professional performance, and movement science.
After ranking #1 in South Africa in his age group, training within the Olympic development swimming squad, and competing in two FINA World Cup events representing South Africa, Daniel Wessels stepped away from competitive swimming at just 19 years old to pursue professional musical theatre, playing the alternate lead role of Troy Bolton in Disney's South African Stage Production of High School Musical.
He later went on to rank internationally in fitness bodybuilding, placing 4th in the world at WBFF World Champs before suffering multiple life-altering musculoskeletal and neurological injuries involving the shoulders, ligaments, brachial plexus, cervical plexus, tendons, fascia, ribs, wrists, and spine.
Seventeen years after leaving the pool, continuing gymnastic and functional athletic conditioning, Daniel returned to swimming at age 36 using only three 1-kilometer swim sessions per week, two full-body resistance training sessions per week, and the daily Axiom Healing Method 7-day flow protocol.
Within just six months, he placed 1st in Canada in two events, 2nd in Canada in two events, and Top 10 nationally in six separate events overall, demonstrating the extraordinary adaptability of the human body when movement, nervous system regulation, fascia conditioning, recovery, and intelligent performance training are integrated as one complete system.
Through decades of lived experience, rehabilitation, elite sport, and clinical practice, the Axiom Healing Method was born.
